This is an age structure pyramid derived from the 2011 Census data showing the proportion of the population in each 5 year age band in Brighton and Hove compared to the average for England as a whole.
Brighton has more younger people (aged 20-45) than the country has on average, and considerably more people in their early 20s than seems fair (around 50% more than the rest of the country). There is also a deficit of elderly people at every age band from 50 to 85.
